Requirements

To get the full benefit of Flex Design System, you need a Figma Professional plan or above. Flex relies on these paid features:

• Variable modes: Flex uses up to four modes per collection (English, Portuguese, German and French in Content / Language). Figma’s Professional plan supports up to 10 modes per collection.
• Team libraries: these let you publish Flex and use it across your other files.
• Library guidelines (optional): these give Figma’s AI agent rules for using Flex. Guidelines are available on Professional plans and above.

You can open the file on a free Starter plan, but modes and library publishing won’t be available.
